Valentines night in!
So obviously celebrating valentines day with a baby requires a little more creativity. Luckily ours turned out amazing!! We got olive garden takeout and decorated our kitchen like an italian cafe. it was very romantic and memorable even though Reid only slept through the salad and appetizers:)

Reid update
As of today, Reid is now 4.5 months and is cuter than ever. Recently at the doctor, Reid was measured in the 80th percentile in height, but only the 30th percentile for weight (super tall and skinny!). Our doctor gave us the ok to start feeding him solid foods (ie rice pudding) but we haven't started yet-probably this week we'll try it out. Other than that, Reid is just seriously the most alert, responsive baby you have ever seen! When I come home from work or school at the end of the day, Reid will almost immediately look straight up at me and will smile a huge, toothless smile. The other day, Christine was holding Reid as I was on the couch and he started to do something that he has never done ever before. I would make a funny sound and Reid would look right at me and started to BELLY LAUGH, like DEEP and LONG. It was soooo funny. At first, Christine and I just cracked up because we thought that it was just a one time thing, but as I continued to do it (probably about 20-30 times) Reid stayed right with me and absolutely CRACKED himself up immediately after each sound, and then paused (anxiously awaiting the next sound) and proceeded to belly laugh his little 4 month heart out.
I wish that we had caught it on video, it was just literally the most hilarious thing we have ever seen- we laughed for like a whole hour afterward.
long awaited baby pictues
As you all know, on September 28th, 2010 at 5:20 pm, Reid Alec Kearns was born. He weighed 8lbs 3 oz and was 21 inches long. I had an appointment to be induced that morning but the night before i started labor on my own so by the time we got to the hospital my contractions were already 5 min apart so they induced me anyway to keep the contractions going. We were really blessed to have a fairly easy birth. (I had an epidural which helped!) Towards the end however, Reid got stuck which was a little stressful but our doctor vacuumed him out and all was well! We couldn't believe how much we loved him and what a special experience his birth was for us.
